Martin Lake Group monster slam dunk for Martin's Landing resident and Atlanta Hawks S&C Coach Ty Terrell

Being that it 's the month of February, I am going to have to call this the "sweetest" deal ever!  It was just over two years ago that I had the privilege of meeting Atlanta Hawks Strength and Conditioning Coach Ty Terrell when introducing myself and Martin Lake Group at his Martin's Landing doorstep. With my love for the game of basketball, we hit it off with some great conversations of which I have continually gained much insights from him on life in the NBA.  It was in late January of this year that I received a text from Ty inviting me to stop by and talk with him and his wife regarding their interest in selling.  We had a great meeting of which they compellingly convinced me that they were truly ready to sell their home, but with two conditions.  Only for top dollar (that is all I know about) and only if they could find an equivalent home to rent in the nearby area for the course of the next 15 months.  I asked them if they were sure they wanted to do that with all the hassle involved in moving.  The answer was "yes" of which I went right to work.

With the NBA All-Star break coming up in late February, it would be the ideal weekend to list and sell their home, but that date gave very little time to line up a rental  home that matched their needs and liking.   About a week and a half later, I began orchestrating what had the potential of  being better than anything Ty had asked for.  It was late that night when it really all started to come together of which at the same time the  Hawks were just wrapping up a road game in Texas when I shot Ty a text:

David: Hey Ty, I might have a deal in place for you.  If it happens, it's going to be fast.

Ty: Ok, let me hear it real quick, plane is about to takeoff to Atlanta

David:  The quick of the deal is that I have procured an all cash potential buyer that is prepared to pay top dollar and would let you stay in your home for the next 15 months, but I have to show it tomorrow early afternoon

Ty: Dang, let me talk to my wife

David: It has to be tomorrow, trust me on this

Ty:  No, your good.  She has meetings from home all day but we will make it happen

The rest of the story short, the house was Under Contract in the next 18 hours for a price far exceeding their expectations and for what was the highest sale price of any neighborhood home ever sold before (by over $100K). no appraisal and a discounted rental rate for the next 15 months that closed in just 18 days.

After showing the house and negotiating the deal, I could not just tell Ty over the phone, but had to relay the news in person as I know they were both waiting and excitedly anxious. I went right over and knocked on the door, where we first met two years prior.   Ty quickly opened the door to see me standings their with my serious starlight face look and silence, followed by me pulling my arm back to extended the strongest high five hand grip as I yelled "DEAL"!  My man was fired up, giving it back like we had just won on a buzzer beating shot. And that is why I love what I do!  The sweetest deal ever! for Ty and his wife!
